Tomato Spinach Dhokla Sandwich

This soft and fluffy Dhokla Sandwich with stuffed Spinach will become an absolute favourite amongst your kids. Kissan Fresh Tomato Ketchup gives the flavour of the dhokla a tangy tomato punch that kids will love!

Ingredients

  1. For Dhokla
  2. Gram flour: 1 ½ cup
  3. Fruit salt: 1 tablespoon
  4. Salt as per taste
  5. Curd: 1 cup
  6. Citric acid: 1 teaspoon
  7. Turmeric powder: A pinch
  8. For Stuffing
  9. Chopped spinach: 1 cup
  10. Salt as per taste
  11. Pepper: A pinch
  12. Kissan Fresh Tomato Ketchup: 2 tablespoons (30g)
  13. Chopped garlic & ginger: 1 ½ teaspoons
  14. Chopped green chilli: ½ teaspoon
  15. Butter: 1/2 teaspoon
  16. For Tempering
  17. Sugar: 2 teaspoons (10g)
  18. Vinegar: 3 teaspoons
  19. Oil: 1 teaspoon
  20. Mustard seeds: 1/2 teaspoon
  21. Curry leaves: 8-10 leaves
  22. Asafoetida: A pinch
  23. Lemon juice: 1 teaspoon
  24. Water

Method of Preparation

  1. For Besan Batter
  2. In a round bowl, mix besan, turmeric powder, salt, curd and gently mix it together.
  3. Add fruit salt and citric acid to the mixture.
  4. Grease a stainless steel tray. Pour in the dhokla batter.
  5. Heat the water in a steamer. Place the tray so that the tray does not come in direct contact with the boiling water and cover the steamer .
  6. Cook for 10 mins or till the batter rises up & becomes fluffy.
  7. For Stuffing
  8. Heat butter in a non-stick pan and saute ginger garlic & green chilli until light brown
  9. Add the chopped Spinach and season it with salt & pepper. Add Kissan Fresh Tomato Ketchup and let the mixture cool.
  10. For Tempering
  11. Heat oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida
  12. Add water, give it a boil, then add sugar and lemon juice.
  13. For Assembly
  14. Cut a square of dhokla and slice it into two
  15. Put the tempering on the dhokla slices
  16. Now layer the spinach stuffing to the dhokla slices.
