Tomato Upma is a healthy and tasty recipe loaded with the goodness of vegetables. It’s the perfect dish to pack into your child’s tiffin. Kissan Fresh Tomato Ketchup makes this dish even more lip smacking and adds a delicious flavour to it.

  1. Semolina / Rava: 1/2 cup
  2. Finely chopped tomato: 3/4 cup
  3. Finely chopped onion: 1
  4. Green chilli: 1
  5. Water: 1 cup
  6. Red chilli powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Kissan Fresh Tomato Ketchup: 1 tablespoon
  9. To Temper
  10. Oil: 2 tablespoons
  11. Urad dal: 1 teaspoon
  12. Curry leaves: 1 sprig
  13. Channa dal: 2 teaspoons
  14. Mustard: 1/2 teaspoon

Method of Preparation

  1. First, heat oil in a pan, add the tempering ingredients and allow it to temper.
  2. Now add finely chopped onion and let it cook until the onion turns golden brown.
  3. Add tomatoes, salt and cook it until mushy, then add red chilli powder, green chilli and water to it.
  4. Now add Kissan Fresh Tomato Ketchup to the mixture and cook it for a few seconds. Then add rava, mix it well and add water to it.
  5. Allow it to cook for 5-7 minutes or until the rava is cooked.
  6. Stir in between and pack it into the tiffin.
